Predictive value of women’s weight trajectories in determining familial cardiovascular disorders: a family-based longitudinal study

Abstract Considering the dynamic nature of body mass index (BMI) and its importance in determining cardiovascular risks, this study aimed to investigate life-course trajectory pattern women’s BMI association with risk factors. A total 1356 couples 2976 children were recruited followed up for an average period 20 years. Latent growth curve modeling was applied determine women's trajectories; logistic regression used associations between patterns factors, including hypertension (HTN), dyslipidemia, diabetes mellitus (DM), obesity. Women classified into three trajectories, normal, stage 1 obesity, 2 Compared normal group, those obesity trajectories had higher odds ratios HTN, DM, dyslipidemia.
